I am thinking about getting a Jardini. Is a 240gal (72"x30"x30") too small irrespective of tankmates?
No that footprint provides more than enough room for a silver (and I believe blacks get to the same size, they just take longer to get there). Though a few people here believe that they need a tank width that is equivalent to the fish's length, imo they really don't need that much width. I have a 2' silver in a 2' wide tank, and it uses less than 1/2 of the tank's width to turn around, so I doubt it will have any problems as it grows. I would be more worried about an african outgrowing it, because they can get to about 36" and aren't nearly as flexible as a silver.Darth Scohin;4310067; said:Wouldn't that tank be too small for a silver? A black would be a better choice or an African Aro but you'd have to feed alot to ensure he'd be getting enough food
