Is a 40 breeder big enough for a pair of Salvini?

I went to my lfs today and seen 6 Salvini labeled as Convicts (lol) anyway they were only 99 cents. I even told them they aren't Cons and they said they've never heard of or ordered any Salvini in the store.
So, I bought all 6. I only want to keep a pair of the best looking when they grow out.

Just curious if a 40 breeder is sufficient.

You would be pushing it in my opinion but I would definitely try it

Alright, cool. I'll definitely give it a shot. Bigger fish tanks are easy to come by, so no big deal if I do need to upgrade.

I would say yes I've bred them in a 29 before not ideal but what it's what I had at the time

Could do it easily, once they get bigger you could upgrade.

40b has a great foot print for the medium sized salvinis. Gonna depend on aggression between the pair imo.

My Salvini bred in a very populated tank once and I lost the eggs to the other fish.
Moved them to a smaller 50 and they did their thing quite nicely.

I miss Salvini...

I've bred them before and it's going to come down to the pair you have. I've had some that worked in a 40b but then I've had some that wouldn't work in a 110 gallon. Hopefully your pair gets along or it's going to be brutal for the female.
