hes in a 75 now. hes about 1'. i want to upgrade to a 120. the dimensions are 4'x2'. is this good for life???

Usually people will tell you a 180g would be the minimum.

I'd say 6x2x2 would be pushing it, but bare minimum. My jardini is starting to make my 300 look small.

I have a 14" Jardini in a 75 gallon.... still have not upgrade to a 180 gallon. Alongs, the Jardini has enough room to turn. I think this is fine. I could be wrong. This is my first aro.... so correct me if this not good for it's growth.

:iagree: I had a 22" jardini in a 72" l x 24" w x 30" h and it just didn't look right. They are just too big and enjoying moving all around the tank, not just the top.

Does this mean you are going ahead with the 120g plan?

IMO for a fish that constantely swim and is going to get close to 30" in length, a 72" x 30" x 24" would be the bare minimum. I'm sure you could cram it in a 180g 6 x 2 x 2, but definetly not a 4 x 2 x 2 for life.
