Is a Jardini worth 300.00?

$300 USD is really really expensive for Jardini, in Asia its so much cheaper like $15 USD - $20 USD for a 6- 8 inch Jardini.
The prices of Asian Arowanas, gold in particular cost like even less the $100 USD...

I wonder how much money these fish shops can make in other countries by artificially inflating / marking up the prices of these fishes to unaffordable levels for hobbyists.

no matter where you are a 8 inch asian will cost more than a 100 imo

Clearly US LFS are making money hand over fist... LFS are goldmines!

Let me clarify. I sold mine for $200 and he felt he got a steal. So if it was at fish store, $300 would probably be about right.

There is quite a few reasons they are more expensive here, mainly due to how far they need to be shipped then the wholesaler marking up that to profit then the LFS marking up that to profit. I've never seen a jar bigger then 5 inch locally but that guy was 99$ at a pricier LFS. I'd imagine a 12 inch would go for around that here, make an offer though as was said, maybe trade in a few fish too to put towards it

I've seen 9" ones in UK for £200 , I think going rate ATM is about £100/120 for one that size , I payed £60 for a 5" one few months back
My very first jar cost me £30 seven years ago that too was around 5"

My LFS has a really nice Jardini that they want 300.00 for. The fish is about 12-14" and beautiful but 300.00? I know it's hard to put a price tag on it without a picture but on the average how much does a nice looking healthy Jardini go for? I live in Oregon if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Old(ish) thread I know, but here in Sydney, that's about the going rate for a jardini that size at LFS. Much cheaper when they are fingerlings
