I have a 36 gallon Bowfront.I just bought the glass canopy for it and i was told to get the Marineland LED reef lights. That it would just make everthing in my tank (POP).Including plants. Will plants be ok with this kind of light? The aquarium isn't set up.Just waiting for everything to buy and taking my time in researching fish for it.

I have some from Beemworks, they are half the price and look just as good. You can search my post to check out my 135 with them

I have the 24" marineland double bright LED unit on my 29 gal cube. Its a shrimp tank and the setup has been up for approx 6 months now. So far so good, plants are doing fairly well, hope this helps.

The fixtures are fine until the bulbs burn out. Then you have to replace the entire fixture. Some last for 10,000 - 17,000 hours. The better more expensive LEDs last for 50,000 hours. So if you run your lights for 10 hours per day, you can expect the cheaper models to last 3-5 years before replacing the fixture. The cheaper models can be more expensive in the long run.

I would personally look in to Aqueon LED fixtures. Same price range as Marineland, but they have replaceable LED modules, and better color rendition (to my eyes) if you use one of their colormax modules in conjunction with the daylight module. The only downside is the colormax modules are extra, the fixture only comes with a single daylight module.

RD I just got a Aqueon Led for my 75. I haven't set ti up tho, I'm in the process of setting it up. Could you post some pics with your Aqueon Led?
