is a ok combination

All should be fine unless you get a pair and they breed. As said earlier dump the rainbow the sal will probabaly kill it. Provide plenty of hiding spots for weaker fish.

should be ok. altough i wouldnt put 4 jacks in there. 1 of each or 2 ebjds.

yes, well as im sure you know very well that each fish is individual and has its own personality!

but i post on the EBJD forum and most people say how there EB's kick the crap out of the JD's

just some fool who once said, EB=wuss comp to JD

i have never heard this before, every EBJD ive seen was a sucky little baby, the few ive had have all been wuss's, and all the people i talk to also say they are wuss's, including someone who does all the selective breeding to get them.

ignore the rainbows, waaaaaaaaaay to peaceful, thats like putting a keyhole in there.

I've owned ebjds for several years, and am involved with the two boards that specialize in jds and ebjds. While SOME ebjds can hang with regular jds, MOST cannot. Breeding ebjds requires a regular jd, and breeding is almost always a male ebjd with a (smaller) female jd precisely BECAUSE they tend not to be as hearty and get the stuffing kicked out of them. In my experience in owning about 15 of these over the years, I view them as community fish, not as an aggressive species (as jds are usually classified).

So... I would be concerned about regular jds being in the tank with the ebjds. The sal might also chase them around and make them hide all the time. My (smaller) female did exactly that; had all three of my larger ebjds hiding in a corner of my 75g, and I had to take her out (to be fair, she really doesn't play nicely with others :banher:). Would be a great color combo if you could get away with it, though.

If it were me, I'd be looking at multispinosas (especially the orange morphs), maybe sevs (but they get kind of big), firemouth (if they're small enough that their bullying instincts are kept in check). You could get away with Honduran Red Points (or other cryptoheros), but they're blue also, so that could be a little too much "blue" for one tank. The orange rainbows and the blue ebjds would be a nice mix, imo.

if you use just single specimens of everything and remove the spare dempseys, keeping just the desired pair, whether EB or regular, then it should be ok, but definitely would not so many individuals of the same species together in this size of tank
