I have silica sand in my 125 and 150 never had any problem with any type of algea, no direct sunlight on tanks, lights on about 6 hrs per day

Does anyone know if all PFS is silica sand ? I've heard that silica can cause brown algea issue's if it introduced into a tank ... I have PFS now and continously get brown algea on it no matter what I do.... And I'm gonna be setting up a 300gallon I don't wanna have the same issue's... And yes I like my white sand... I want white sand that won't cloud the water when a fish swats its tail but I also don't want brown algea all over my white PFS.... Thought bout mixing white play sand with the 100lbs I already use/have in my 140gallon, what do you guys suggest or think ?

The only algae I have is on the tank wall under the sand...at first it looks like the sand is dirty but in reality is just algae growing there and my various fish can't get to it.

White leslies Pfs in all my tanks no issues. Are you overfeeding? More wc can possibly help as well.

The amount of food I feed gets ate with 30-60 seconds, no direct sunlight ever... I mean it can't be lack of circulation could it ? 3 powerheads in powerhead mode (maxijet1200's) and 2fx5's one with a 62" spray bar and other with dual output, I have anabaius plant in there to help and there is a bubble stone (green cone style) on left side of tank and a 24" bubble wall on right side of tank

How recently was the tank set up. It is diatom algae and should go sway with time. If your stocks allows for it get a few bristle nose plecos. If not scrub with something that it will stick to like a pad so you can remove it and vacuum after. Diatom algae usually grows in newer tanks and feeds off the silicates.

Tank was setup in may or so.. So like 7months give or take a month..but shouldn't ya see it deminsh over the time tho ? And would it be the same thing if I had to move the tank to a new location ? (Use all the stuff I have now)

I would like to know what to do about this as well. i switched to pfs and have been having the same issues plus it growing on the glass and never dealt with it before.
