I am planning on buying 2 75 Gallon tanks and I was wondering if these combinations would work

In first tank
1 Red Devil
1 Oscar
1 Common Pleco

In second tank

2 EBJDs
1 Common Pleco
1 Senegal Bichir

Any other suggestions? I can get rid of any fish except the EBJDs if this will not work =)

I wouldn't.. ur tank isn't big enough for Bichir...

U need a bigger tank... ur 20 gallon just dont cut it... I would invest in a 50 gallon...

I'm not very experienced with Birch... but provided the Blue Dempseys had enough time to grow larger than "food size" in comparison to the Birch, I believe they would work well together (although keep in mind Birch have big mouthes). Personally, I would put a Black Ghost Knife in this tank too ;)

The bigger concern I would have is that if both Blue dempseys turn out to be males (which is likely) then chances are they will grow to be intolerant of each other as adults in a 75 gal with no other Cichlids. I've grown out several groups of Blue Dempseys and have watched this happen in most of those groups.

As for the other tank... If the RD turns out to be female, then ther eis a good chance it will work... if the RD turns out to be a male there is a good chance your Oscar will be a sad stressed fish... Either way, this tank will not be very forgiving if you miss a water change.

oh, im not worried about WC lol... i am like OBSESSED wit my fish... its like an impulse lol... but anyways..

should i just build like a 200 gallon or the 2 75s?

and the bichir is MAYBE 4 or 5 inches and the EBJDs are nothing but babies... barely over the 1.5" mark

NC_Nutcase is right - don't do it (yet).

I left 8 ~1.5" EBJDs with a ~4.5" delhezi. The next morning there were 7 EBJDs. I thought one was hiding, then the next morning one of the remaining 7 had part of its tail missing. Removed the delhezi right away and all is well....

^^ Yup, I wouldn't do it yet... when your $50 Cichlid is the same size as a feeder goldfish... I wouldn't put it with a fish that would enjoy eating a feeder goldfish :D

75 gal are nice sized tanks... but a 200 gal would be a real fun tank to have. The biggest difference is with 2x 75 gal tanks you can keep fish that are of a much different aggression level, such as Blue Dempseys and Red Devils. If you had only one larger tank you would have to choose whether to have aggressive fish, or mildly aggressive fish... as both simply would not work...

A red devil and oscar are not going to live together in a 75G,
