I have always wanted a puffer but i'm not allowed 3 tanks.I'm getting a 60 uk gallon/70 us gallon tank. Here is what I want to keep.

2 x channa bleheri
4 x African Butterfly Fish
2 x Black Ghost Knife
3 x Clown/Butterfly pleco Or 2 x Clown Loaches
2 x Peacock Or 2 x Borneo Python
2 x Brown Knife Fish

Even if it was 1 dwarf puffer?Any Suggestions? Also one of my lfs's has an uncommon puffer - Pignose! It's cool!

Just a little tip on the Clown Plecos... They are awfully shy, and will only eat algae as juveniles, and they (usually) require wood in their diet. They are one of a few wood-eating species of pleco. Don't expect to see them swimming around without sitting still in front of the tank for a good 15-20 mins.

Also, for a 70 gallon tank, that is a bit overstocked... A little. Just a tad though.

You'd have to wait for a response from PufferPunk, or someone with a lot of knowledge on puffers. A Fahaka with a slimmed down stock list would be pretty sweet, though.

Yeah, forget the snakehead & the Pignose. It is not a good idea keeping 2 species of knives together, due to their electric abilities. Keep in mind, a BGK will only eat live worms & the butterflies are adept jumpers. I've lost every single one I ever kept to jumping out of my tank.

You could keep some South American puffers in there but they need regular teeth trimming & will be difficult to catch in a large tank. Go to my forum & look for their profile in our Pufferpedia. There is also an article on them in our Library, along with one on Pufferfish Dentistry.

I'm not getting the channa no more and I will be keeping one borneo python (Probally)and more clown loaches

Oh and only one species of knives dunno if I should keep 5 or just one because in pairs they will fight.

Here is what I now plan to keep:

4 x African Butterfly Fish
1 x Black Ghost Knife
1 x Brown Ghost Knife
4 x Clown Loaches
1 x Borneo Python Eel

That is if I can get these fish.A few of them are quite rare.

You're thinking is way overstocking that tank. 1 knife/tank.

The knife rarely even grows to 18 inch?
I actually think it's understocked

Although slow growers, clowns eventually grow to a foot. I've already told you about mixing more than 1 electric fish. Are you aware than knives only eat live worms? That's a lot of food for that many!
