I was looking over the profile sticky for ca/sa cichlids and thought it was a lil on the light side and think it could use a redo. I think it could be better and there are many people on here who have the experience with certain fish who should create threads about fish. It will take some time i know but it will be fun and better for people to use and may also help people answer their own questions before asking. I have a list below and you can pm me about which fish you want to do unless already taken. I will allow people to do up to 2-3 profiles. I want everything you from, names, size, min tank size for singles or pairs, breeding, temper, tankmates, feeding, and any other comments you want to add. I would like you to pm the profiles and i will then put this together and you will be given credit at the end of the profile you created. Is this worth it or waste of time.

Well im gonna work on one and probly post it tomar for grammodes to start it off. I hope it turns into somthing that will bring help to others. I hope we can get pics and videos if people want to use them
 
This is a really good idea, im willing to help out writing the profiles of lets say....

Obviously We need other people to add their info and pictures to each profile, so HOPEFULLY if this takes off we could get a mod to edit some of the additional info into the profile of the fish?
 
sounds really good to me. I will start the thread after work and hopefully we will see profiles popping up
 
great idea, also what about puting photos of sick fish and the sickness they have next to it that way ppl could see at a glance if its the same symptoms as ther sick fish..just thinking out loud:D also ppl could add what cure worked best,
thing is it would mean fewer hits and im not sure if the site would like that
 
Thats a really good idea but probably would have to be on a thread of its own, otherwise people will get confused having a bunch of profile threads with diseases scattered among them. unless of course there is a better way to order things, but I think we are limited to the thread format.
 
the sickness idea would work for another thread but should just be for cichlids or it will probly be moved to the disease section. Good idea tho. I think more threads like this should be made to better the website and people will be able to point people to these threads if needed
 
Yup its a great idea, cause I always google the fish name and come up with mixed information, but this way we can have all the info on this site, with real information from people that have kept them
