Is anyone up for this?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Maybe, instead of reinventing the wheel, we can take existing profiles from elsewhere and add to them. There are some damn good ones out there on the Web. The cichlid room companion and cichlid forum are gwo that come to mind.
This is a great idea though. I'd love to see this info consolidated and presented our way.

Im about half done with my profile and will start the thread after work tomar. I have used sites to gather basic info such as temp, and ph, and common names. We want people to do the same but to also input there experience witht he fish because that is worth much more than what you can get from a basic profile site. I have named the thread "MFK CA/SA Cichlid Profiles" If the title is too blah let me know and im open for title names

Well I could chip in some pictures/videos of a jag pair, my currently have swimming fry also not sure about ph etc and all that I dont check any of it naughty me! I just believe what the PH is at when aged is best to adjust the fish too only use wood to lower etc but never check haha! also have a flower horn pair but they are young and still figuring out the sexing life!

Cichlid Room Companion provides all of the basic information I look for when researching a fish. What it doesn't provide is much personal experience and more than a few pictures for most species. I'd also like to see different regional variants for species listed and pictured so it's easy to sort through.

I also think we should do pictures for regional variants. I think theyve either done this or tried it in the cichla section and it was a good tool and kinda gave everyone a basis for which variant they had if they didnt know the collection point
