Never such a thing as too much! Slap an emperor 400 and a canister filter on that bad boy as well. Hell even add a koralia power head. That 10g will be like a mini vortex!

There IS such a thing as too much flow... if your fish are pinned up against the glass from so much current they can't swim.... yeah. :grinno:

Ok let me give a little more details..in the 10 gallon I have 5 geos, 3 cichlas, 4 loaches and 2 rams... All ranging from 1.5"-3". I just bought a 2nd 10 gallon tank and was going to put the cichlas and geos in one tank and the loaches and rams in the other. The 2nd 10 gallon tank came with a tiny aqueon hob filter, but I wanted to switch it out

If your fish are over an inch, don't worry about the intake. Aquaclear 70 is not that much flow... seriously. I suspect many of the people commenting don't have experience running this model in small tank setups, I DO. You can adjust the flow anyway to basically nothing.

I have a rena xp3 on my 33 gallon with a couple inch long fish no problem. You'd have to have serious intake suction to worry about anything bigger than fry.

Sponge the intake and see if flow affects the fry at all. You may need to turn off the filter during feeding though!
