How are you certain that the carbon is doing that to your aro?
KRichardson brings up an interesting point, how do you know the blisters are carbon related? Did you remove carbon and they cleared up?
Arowana come from highly tannin infused waters, which are considered anti bacterial.
The blisters "could" be bacterial in nature and not at all related to carbon.
That is interesting, thanks for answering. As soon as I remove it, blisters goes away within a week or so. As soon as I put carbon back, the blisters comes right back! I tried it couple times too.
I wouldn't mind using Carbon at all bc it really clears up my waters. Only reason I'm not using that is because the blisters it causes. I mean I really have no scientific answer to why it does that but after researching, it says it removes some kinda of nutrients in the water.
I had almost the opposite experience, as a noob I didn't use chemical then when I thought I was more knowledgeable I started using it. Now I have it around for med removal but don't use it otherwiseI haven't used chemical filtration since I was an inexperienced teen and didn't know better. Tons of biological and mechanical for me that's it
You just answered your own questionwhat catagory is crush coral considered? I know it's a buffer.
