Maybe my two cents is unwarranted, as it seems like the topic has been done to death, but there’s one thing about FF that always gave me pause.

Usually, when you see somebody come out of the woodwork with a bunch of ideas about how “mainstream” belief is nonsense and give a bunch of advice that requires doing way less work, it’s a red flag for me. What’s the old adage? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is?

Set-it-and-forget-it fishkeeping always seemed a little bit like that for me.

SURVIVING and THRIVING are two very different things. Working "completely fine" in this case just translates to "haven't killed each other". There's a lot more to responsible fish keeping than simply not killing fish.

There yuh go, lecturin us plain folk. Fraid we don't cotton to that in these here parts. Too many folks nowadays with them new fangled ideas like filtrayshun, cleen water an' puttin' lids on tanks. Whuts next, yoosin heatyrs??? Take yer fancy ideas an' head back to the city! We don need radicals roun here.

You've done nothing that other newbies haven't done before you as regards to resurrecting old threads. In fact yours is barely worth a mention. We've had newbies open up threads that have been over a decade old!

It's funny when everyone jumps into the conversation and then begin cursing themselves when they realise the dates, lol.
Yeah i didnt realize people would take my opinions on the matter like i was trying to convert them to a new religion.
