is feeding alot of crickets bad?

Trout and nightcrawler worms from the Lfs. I've had a few fish take skinned peas. It's really not as complicated as it sounds just challenging getting enough food to the bottom of the tank for the rtc to eat too. The Oscar was smart about it and that's what made it complicated. I tried to drop a bunch in a once to see if he would just take one or two and let the rest fall down but he would swallow the whole thing. Like 5 or more worms at once so one day I just tried it like that. Distract him with a few near the surface and put some in the outflow of my filter so the sink faster and it worked. Both fish got enough food so we were all happy.

hhmm, sounds complicated to me. hahah does ure oscar eat pellets?

Ive been wondering the same thing. I feed my archer a lot of crickets and was hoping he wouldnt get a parasite or "over fed.." He eats flakes too, havent tried a pellet because im not sure which would be best. I give him crickets and flakes probably half and half, he seems to be doing great though.

every 4 days i give my jag like 8 crickets. hes 8 inches. he doesnt eat alot of pellets for some reason but he loves crickets. is this ok? i just want to make sure hes eating alot so he hits max size. i also do alot of fresh waterchanges is it ok to give him alot of crickets. its not a long term thing just until he hits like 13-14 inches
Too many crickets along with other improper maintenance can contribute to and cause intestinal blockages due to the amount of chitin in their exo-skeleton in lizards. So I imagine the possibility of an intestinal blockage occurring in a fish for the same reason is possible. Varied diets are one of the best ways to ensure proper nutrition and in preventing health problems, so I wouldn't feed exclusively or excessively a cricket only diet.

There have been a lot of very good suggestions that would be useful in making sure your Jag gets the proper nutrition he needs to reach his potential, as long as you take note I'm sure the Jag will be a beast in no time.
