IS GIVING UR FISH NAMES DEADLY!?!?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I name some fish. It's not deadly but it does make it harder when they do die. I lost one of my named ones thursday and it sucked.

Everytime I say I really like a fish and name it, it dies. I never say I love any of my fish, those end up dead too. So my fish remain unnamed and unloved but don't worry they're still taken very good care of.

I never give my fish names or set their picture as my cell phone background until the morning after I buy them :)

The only fish I ever named was a 28"long female red snakehead. She was very deadly to other fish! She has been gone for 10 years and sadly there is no way to get another.
RIP Princess

I just avoid names from the alien series every fish i have named from there has died within a month, all the others with names are fine, its usually dirty water or other things that kill fish, but avoid names from the alien movies to be sure.....

My Oscars are named after two of my friends and they seem to go from strength to strength! :headbang2

I think it is deadly to give a fish a name right away. Whenever I have done that, in the past, the fish has had very short life span. Now I wait a few weeks to make sure the fish is going to make it and to study its personality. Then I will give it a name. For instance, my male Jack Dempsey is named Nick Diaz because he likes to fight.

This is my rational as well... wait to see how well they do in the tank before deciding to name them... at the moment all my puffers have names and touch wood, none of them are dead yet...
