nice philosophy, so come on whats your view?
everyone deserves a say, go nuts nobody will flame your being invited to express your view =)

I have played this game before...No need to play again. ;)

I, as a science teacher, agree with the vast majority of the scientific community. Global warming is real and it is being accelerated by human activities.

yes i care to back that up.
you are what appears to be about 50 seperate countries called "states" that for some reason banded together into some supernation, think they rule the world, consume fast amounts of unhealthy food and produce copious amounts of waste and environmentaly harmfull materials. everyone legaly can carry a gun and you wonder why people get killed and murdered so often. the high population of which most drive and when i say drive this IS america where a 4liter engine car isnt considered stupidly huge. just look at the facts around you that you are contributing alot to "global warming" and as i said i know china is far worse, and russia and japan i guess are bad too. im just saying america is up there in the top 10

I mean back it up with a credible source, not what YOU think of us awful, evil "Americans".

ok well fair enough, just giving you a chance. im sure some stronger opinionated people will chime in soon

Bwahahahahah. Stronger opinionated? This has NOTHING to do with how strong my opinion is, b/c trust me, it is VERY strong.

But, why is Americans in quotes, not awful or evil? Are you going to bring up that past discussion of how we aren't really American?

Please don't, Seth. Oh God, don't...

Sorry man, I don't want to derail this thread. I just love when individuals from other countries talk smack about the US yet most of their things are derived from here like cloths, music, video games, movies, etc.... It makes me laugh.

Yes, the parts of the earth will cool, that's why the term "global warming" is a misnomer.

For example, if the globe warms up enough then the Gulf Stream will be truncated because of all that northern ice melting into the ocean, and if that warm water flow is cut off then the northern parts of the world, such as Europe, would begin to freeze.

Yes, the world goes through periods of heating and cooling because of its wobble. Most of the land is in the N. Hemisphere, and whenever the N. Hemisphere is closer to the sun in the summer then the levels of CO2 will go down, but because of the wobble the Earth today has its N. Hemisphere pointing "away" from the sun during the summer.

However, here's some food for thought. The Mississippian and Pennsylvanian eras were when there were a lot of land plants, and not large herbivores. When those plants died and built up layers they made coal... 300 million years ago. So you take fixed carbon... carbon that has been out of the environment for over 300 million years and reintroduce it into the atmosphere in a mere 300 years... don't you think that's obviously going to have an effect on global climate?

That's the main point, we just don't know what's going to happen. We still don't fully understand the relationships between fixed carbon and the planet, free carbon and the planet, or how the ocean will react to increased CO2 levels... it could either absorb the extra CO2 and balance us out, or it could release CO2, furthering the problem.

So, shouldn't we take preventative measures to this? Don't you think the diabetic would have preferred a healthier lifestyle beforehand rather than having to daily test their blood sugar and give themselves insulin injections?

The time to act is now. Before we do something we can't undo.
