I'm a new aro hobbyist and have a HBRTG, but know very little about gold arowanas. Surfing through the internet and skimming through several articles I found people described some gold arowanas being pure 24K. When I saw the term 'karat' used in the articles this raised more questions for myself.

Does the fish really have gold in it because the term 'karat' is being used to describe a high end aro like a Crossback Gold?

no, not really man. they use that term to describe the scale color. like in jewelry, an 18karat gold bracelet will have a lesser intensity of gold color compared to a 21karat gold bracelet. same for gold aro's.... but no real gold there
