is green water dangerous to fish?

Try the blackout and stuff a bunch of filter floss in the filter or a good polishing pad to trap the tiny greenwater debris.

I had to use a UV sterilizer since no matter what I did the greenwater kept coming back. I have my tank near a window since my house floorplan did not allow a better placement. If you can go with the blackout route, do it, it's less expensive in the end.

Good luck.

Double the filtration.
Do 2 90% waterchanges within 48 hours.
Ive only had green water a few times but that always worked for me.
