Here is the fish from my wifes office now alone in a 75 with a couple of bristlenose. He doesn't look like any other jack that I have seen. I am having to rehome my brothers male jack but he doesn't look anything like this guy in the pics. Sorry the bank of the tank isn't painted yet and the driftwood is still leeching tannins in the tank.

My brother in law has been breeding these for about 8 years and was told they were jacks but after looking at the jacks in the stores It doesn't look like the ones I've seen. Also what would be a good smaller fish to add looking to add 2 more fish in the 75 not bigger than 4-6" either a pair or 2 singles.

Knew he was a male just looking for reassurance he was a jack.

Definately male Rocico Octofasciatus aka Jack Dempsey. Well done on securing such a good looking example.

Thank you, should I get a female for him if I can get a nice specimen? or should I get 2 other fish either a smaller pair 4-6" or 2 singles in the 4-6" size? Whaqt would you recommend.

Nope seen lots of larger specimens around here 2 just that none of them look like this one that is why I asked. I can got to certain stores and get 6-8" almost all the time if I wanted.
