anyone ever been bitten by their gar doing a water change? a little convict chicilid
bit me ounce and scared the crap out of me,(thought it was a crayfish) now im nervous putting my hands in my tank with my needle fish..ouuch!

i was told gar grow an inch a month
mine grew 1 1/2in from july 12 to august 12

is that slow??? its a florida gar, how is that slow??

whata they do??, go on hyper speed the first most then suddenly slow down??
they only get 12in their first year, that doesnt make any sense

gator gars were about 6 inches in december...now in augusts (9 months) they r 32'' each!!!

ive had my florida gar since July 12 and hes grown from 1in to 2 1/2in, is that good???

i was told that he should be 7in in 2 months, and since im not an "expert" i must be wrong about everything right???

so my gar should be about 4in now rite??? cuz an "expert" told me the above

i didnt catch the quotes on expert. im not an expert but i am mostly right about what i know and dicuss about these fishes.

it must be something with the water, cuz my yellow bullhead grew only 2in in 8months, (1in to 3in) idk how big he is now, cuz hes in the pond, so its probably the same reason for the gar

it could just be the fish, cuz iv been told by many other ppl (with many yrs of experience) that some individual fish grow rapidly, and some grow slow ass hell

example: someone from another forums yellow bullhead when i was told, was 3yrs old, and only 7in
