quit being a cock block and pull out the divider.

LOL in all seriousness though you will be able to tell when you let them go. My jags looked like the male was gonna rip her apart but he never really bites. He flares up and swims in circles all around her really fast. A couple of times he will lock jaws or give a small nip on the side to get her attention.

When one fish tries to kill another its actually less persistant then mating. When mating the male seems to never leave. When a fish is trying to kill something you will notice one will kinda wait then dart at the other full speed. Then if they miss they wait again and etc. And when they actually bite, they really really bite.

I just watched your video and didn't seem like courting. Just looked like the male was curious and she was kinda like get lost looser.

When the male really wants to court you will know because they act crazy. They will swim in circles and flare and shine and make weird body movements like all day non stop until the female agrees.

He was definately trying to court her, I pulled the divider for a few days, she seemed into it at first too, smacking him with her tail and shaking at him, shaking in the sand, but he was just too much for her and ended up really stressing her out, so I had to seperate them. I have a female festae on the way tomorrow for him, and a friend is bringing me a koky red devil male for her tonight :D
