Crenicichla sp. bellycrawler

Does it sit on the bottom of the tank all the time?

i can't enlarge the photo but judging from the small photo it looks like a bellycrawler , usually bellycrawlers have large eyes set more the the top of thier heads , as opposed the the sides for most other pikes. it also appears to have a oscelli part way down the dorsal fin witch would make this a female bellycrawler.

So does the stocking of this pike fall under the others meaning they are agressive conspecifically?? And are these cosiderd dwarf pikes?? I really like it,also i have mine with a 1" oscar so hopfully my bellycrawler gets to the full 6" so the oscar can't swallow it!!!!

My LFS had another variety of pike,i'm gonna' exchange him tommorow,as long as there other variety isn't a dwarf...........because the oscar worries me,but i wanna' keep him because hes a beautiful black/white marbled, but a foot long pike wont't be din-din so i'll see if those others are dwarfs and go from there....................yikes!!

Bout the most red you are gonna get outa that pike is if its a female, it will get reddish sides and some red in the dorsal. Aside from that, its pretty much WYSIWYG...;)..and belly crawler can get up to 10" +...my male was just pushing 10.5" when he died...;)
