Thank you for elaborating, I can understand that perspective given the historical context/anecdotes.
We’ve all seen the collectors, a few weeks ago I stopped by my LFS for some food and baby archocentrus. The whole store was in a tizzy because there was a guy there trying to buy 8-10 adult c. Spectablis ( that has been split up into individual tanks due to their disdain for each other) these fish came from the New England aquarium and every few years there is a batch available. Well, the man was trying to put these fish into a 125 with an established pair of festae- I couldn’t talk him out of it, not even down to taking a single specimen. The store owner told him why they were separated and that it would likely be a blood bath. I told him my own experiences with Krausi in a
Larger tank without an aggressive pair- he could not be swayed.
Builders instead of maintainers, you strike me as a maintainer and I bet the hobby is more enjoyable for you than it is for the other gentleman.
But,.. that being said I bet he put up an expert species profile on their care via YouTube
