Is it bad luck to name your fish???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Silly superstition and nothing more than coincidence if they died because you named them. My goldfish are all named. See my signature for link to flickr.:grinyes:

male (died) and female flowerhorns - thorn and fleur (thorn coz he was evil and obviously rose thorn=flowers lol and fleur french for flower)
my fire eel was loki but then he died last week.
i got my spotted raphael that are chubs 1 chubs 2 and chubs 3 coz they r all chubby lol
my featherfin is 'u vicious little b***er, leave them alone!!!!' in a very hight pitched voice!
and my bichirs are all called babies...'oh baby dont do that' 'oh ur so gorgeous baby' etc lol

welll i had two pictus cats and i called one dyson and the other electrolux and i had a BGK that was called gantu and the three of them died on the same day after iv had them for about 8 months i was very sad and i was to scared to name any of my fish until i got a brilliant apisto caca and i thought this fish i s too awesome not to have a name so i trid to think of the most awesome name for him and thus he is now Tittybong and is my favourite fish

All the fish I've ever named has died within weeks of just naming them so I stopped.

had a synodonus decorus for like 8 years who's name was spot. I know I named my other fish, but it's been to long to remeber their names. atm the only fish w/ a name is my oldest and biggest fire eel. Scarlet. alot or color to her, and she's deffinately the boss to the tank. the other two are close to getting names, as I've started to call hem things other then "fish" my fish kinda just end up w/ names as i have them longer 'n longer.

wasn't there a thread like this not too long ago?

anyways most of my fish don't have names but the ones that do.

12" red oscar- The Beast (named due to his feeding habits)
10" albino red oscar- Tiny (named so due to how small she lookedn when first put in the tank next to the beast)

16" common plecostamus - Quasimodo - (I really don't remember why)

9" silver/white koi - Angel (named by the little girls of the man I bought him from)
