On the buy & sell is dominated by the state of California.

Just started to look around after being absence for a while.

You forgot to put letters S O in front of California. That is where the majority of nice fish seem to be.
I have found a few peeps willing to ship up to norcal. But its sad more socal people will not ship even to norcal.
12 hour round trip to socal is to much driving..

well gee I have not been back for a bit. There is maybe one reason why Socal has many deals or stuff available because there is a port of entry for goods, livestock etc... Especially from the Asian countries.
I thought about being a vendor again here but I rarely ship much and during my busy season (winter) I do not have time to go back & forth answering this and that plus pics etc.. So really not worth it since being a bricks & mortar LFS store. I have odd balls, cichlids, plecs and cats etc not easy to find stuff.
But to be honest not sure if I will be bringing in this stuff much more because of cost and losses that I have to eat. Many customers do not realize some of this stock in a store cost more to house & tie up valuable tank space if it does not get a new home soon and have to feed it good foods etc..

As someone who grew up in the midwest (Ohio), lived in Cali (Sacramento) and moved to the east (MD) a few years ago, the fishkeeping scene in California is very different than in either the midwest or the east.

While there were fish clubs in Cali (including a good one in Sacramento), their presence seemed a lot less significant than in, for example, Ohio, where just about any given weekend there's a club holding an event, having a meeting or holding an auction.

Since moving back to MD, where there is an active fish club scene (as there was in Ohio), I very seldom need to deal with folks outside of clubs and club events when selling fish, tanks, supplies, etc. Prices aren't always great but much less hassle than dealing with the random time-wasters, grifters, low-ballers and hustlers you often find online.
