i want a bob cat but tryin to get the permits is rediculous. i would love one but PA is wierd about the stuff they allow. I can get my caiman no prob but a bob cat, oh no!!! oh and racoons are good pets untill they turn around 5. then they turn. this happend to my buddy. he had all the shots and distemper but never got it fixed. prob if he got it fixed then it might have helped. he kept it for 17 years. then he got it stuff. lol.

Moved to canada everything is fine to keep except indigenous species.

That's because it's a native game animal in this state. You pretty much need a permit to keep anything native here, especially game/fur-trapping animals.

It sucks trying to own a big cat in CA. Unless they've loosened up since I left, you're required to have a license, the enclosure has to be inspected before a license can be issued (you'll be charged for this), the premises must allow 'spot' unannounced and announced inspections (you can be charged for these, too). The canines must be removed, and (depending on county) the cat must be declawed.
If you live in an incorporated part of a city/town, the chances of getting a license approved drops tremendously.
I got put throught the ringer when I tried getting the state's OK to bring my bobcat to the state. I wound up leaving him with my dad because I didn't want him mauled for the sake of a license that had to be renewed annually and didn't guarantee I wouldn't be hit with any new ordnances.
This all happened in San Diego County.
do you still have him ?... love to see pics of him.

Here in Canada... you can have bobcats... but they are kind of hard to get...
