That's because it's a native game animal in this state. You pretty much need a permit to keep anything native here, especially game/fur-trapping animals.
yeah i know. There is no way i ever could own one. Would absolutly love too but its too rediculous. Plus other PA laws are a pain!! Like no hedgehogs and other animals if u want them must be breed in pa.:screwy:

We can't have hedgehogs or do you mean they must come from breeders here in the state?

Well when it comes to keeping reptiles we're pretty lucky here. No permits needed for large snakes, venomous reptiles or crocodilians (except for in some cities). The only issue we have once again is with native reptiles and amphibians which is probably for the best.

We cant have hedgehogs i think. there are other animals that must be bought from a breeder here in the state in order to be legal. but yeah for reptiles we are really lucky!

Here in Canada... you can have bobcats... but they are kind of hard to get...

Depends where you are, not in Ontario.

I have seen hedgehogs for sale before at various pet stores around the area so I guess they're legal to own.

True no bobcats or lynx, but tigers and lions are fine

Well, most municipalities ban them, but yes, they're allowed provincially. Go Ontario lol

Don't quote me on this but I think we (PA) can't have Sugar Gliders for some reason.

Edit: I just found out, you need a permit to own these blood-thirsty marsupials.
