never experienced a ODOR...especially a bad odor..make sure the food is still good...depending on where you purchase it sometimes it can be on the shelf too long..otherwise i cannot think of any reason for the odor.The only Hikari i feed that has a distinct odor is the massivore..but all the pellets etc are mostly odorless.

i never had any problems when using hikari pellets.
now im using NLS i notice a strong garlic odour when im next to the tank or working on it.

We might think fish food smells bu fish love sticky food. I remember going fish with my dad we would use Chum and that smelt like death well it was dead fish. But it worked.

So my guess is it's the food that smells. It's summer time and everything smell stronger in te heat.
