Is it normal for clown loaches to hide all day?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think it would be best to sell them.:( I was hoping you'd stick with the loaches for a long time but your other fish won't really allow them to live for a long time, not to mention clowns are rather very slow growers thus easily outstripped by others in growth rate.

yeah.. is it safe to keep them in a 20g long for a week or two? Just so i can snap some pictures and post them up. They will be okay with baby 1.5" pbass right?

Of course. You made a wise decision in the end.

Thanks for the help Lupin. I really liked these loaches.. they are VERY hard to find especially at that size around here.

but it would be a real shame if something happened to them.

I have 4 with a small GT, and they are very active. He's the largest fish in the tank though, and at 4 inches probably doesn't scare the loaches too much.

Depends on the size of tank, individual personality and size of fish but you didn't consider the results in their adult stage.

You mean the clowns at adult size? I did consider that, and bought them because I know I will most likely have a larger tank by the time they get anywhere near full size. If they do eventually outgrow my tank, I can sell them or return them to a store.

Including GT. But GT's aren't usually aggressive until sub-adult size. Still, not a good mix in the long run.
