Is it normal for Tiger barbs to hide

Good Day

I began a planted aquarium with a few plants and about 10 neons six days ago i added 8 tiger barbs and a new light what says 15 light spectrum's
so the question : is it normal for tiger barbs to hide when the lights are on but when i change the light spectrum to red they come out and hide when i add white they hide again
any advice please

Hi,
seems like the light is too bright.
I guess they will still get used to it.
Adding 4 more could help too, as well as floating plants.
You can remove them later.

what type of floating plants would you suggest

Any you like, but not duckweed.
It is hard to get rid of it.

i can dim the light as well and ill look into floating plants

Start your light as low setup as possible and rank up the color little by little each week until you hit the brightness you wanted.

I have had tiger barbs eat my Amazon swords so will a lot of different loaches like zig zag and tiger botia and clown loaches
