Is it normal to have convicts about 2.5 inches long(basically babies), to be making a nest and about to lay eggs? I just got my aquarium setup 3 weeks ago and it seems like its super fast to be having babies already.

haha YEP that is what convicts do they are like little water rabbits.


i hope you have enough room for other fish to hide from them. also dont expect many babies in this spawning.

ya i had a 2in female and a 5in male in a 180 with O's plec's and tinfoils and they spawned and had a huge cloud of fry. The male was pushing around my 10in O's . My plec's fins were all tore up. Then the male died. I think one of the O's or the big ole plec pushed him back one day. after he was gone it only took a couple days and all fry were ate then the female died. I suspect a broken heart. lol
