What size tank.
How much filtration and how much water do you have to change to keep nitrates below 20ppm?

Oscars eat crabs. I gave my O some beach crabs a few weeks ago. Left sand and shell bits all over the place! :)

Wait, wait. Just in case you missed it - What size tank? How many gallons are we working with?
 
I agree, we need to know tank size to give an accurate response to stock what to stock your tank with. If you want to feed earthworms, go to your sporting good store and buy some. I'm pretty sure Wal-mart carrys them too, well atleast mine does.

Agreed, they're pretty much water. If you have to feed them, gutload them with a quality flake food.
 
well my tank(please dont start trippin) but its 10gallons atm, untill i have enough money to buy a 130gallon(220dollars at this one fish store). And i do water changes every Wensday or Saturday/Sunday. its random and depends how busy I am. Well im only 17 and still attending school so yeah, and i also have a socal life myself. but i also have a backup plan if i cant get the 130gallon tank. so yeah. i thought everything thru-ly

Yeah, Here I go again, giving the OP the benefit of the doubt. Kinda figured OP had done some looking around before getting the oscar. Guess I was wrong.
 
Ouch 4" oscar in a 10g is pretty rough. Look on Craigslist my firend and you'll find some awesome deals. Buying a brand new tank is so expensive IMO.

No more additions until you upgrade.

A Jack Dempsey would be a good addition once you've upgraded. A green terror could work too, but make sure the GT is smaller or he'll pick on the oscar.
