I do 15-20% water changes every day in my 30 and 55, my fish have great color and they look healthy as well. I told the clerk at a LFS and he said it is recommended to do it everyday. But, I hear from some of you guys it is bad? is it really? What is the best way to get color and make your cichlids healthier? Thanks...

There's nothing wrong with frequent water changes, but be consistent. Don't go from daily water changes to once a week water changes suddenly.

Are you willing to do this for years? It is ok, but I think 2-3 times a week is sufficient.

I do 50% water changes every week...........I do not agree with doing a water change everyday because the biological conditioning needs to settle at times.........This means that the small nitrites eating the ammonia need to multiply.......And constantly ridding of these biological good fighters will defeat the purpose of having an awsome bilogical system growing in the tank.........If you do everyday water changes, then have yourself a good wet-dry filter...........

when you have 100+ gallons doing daily water changes can get pricey.
