Is it ok to clean your tank every day?

It's fine.

There's people on here that run a constant water change where they constantly have water dripping out of the tank, and new water dripping in the tank.

Personally, I do weekly 50% water changes. It's just what I prefer. And as long as Nitrates don't get out of control, and you're doing atleast 25% water changes per week, I don't think you have a problem as you're not giving other chemicals that we don't test for time to build up in the tank.

i think your doing great by doing that.. especially if you are seeing high quality results in your fishes health... keep up the good work..

It depends on your stocking. There is nothing wrong with it. I do 90% or so water changes daily on young discus and also cichlid fry. This is because I feed heavily and overstock fry tanks. Water will get filthy really fast in an overstocked tank that is fed heavily. As long as the water parameters of the new water and the tank water match and you don't have wild swings in temperature or pH, there is no problem.

Beneficial bacteria is found all throughout the tank, but especially in filter pads and sponges. I only clean filters every couple weeks by squeezing the gunk out of them in a bucket of tank water. You won't hurt your beneficial bacteria colony by doing water changes alone.

Do you pay your own bills or are you a kid who lives with their parents. If your on your own then do what ya want but kinda a waste of water and money. If you live with you parents then stop wasting theirs

I do 50% water changes every week...........I do not agree with doing a water change everyday because the biological conditioning needs to settle at times.........This means that the small nitrites eating the ammonia need to multiply.......And constantly ridding of these biological good fighters will defeat the purpose of having an awsome bilogical system growing in the tank.........If you do everyday water changes, then have yourself a good wet-dry filter...........

the beneficial bacteria live on surfaces in the tank and filter, not in the water itself. by doing a large water change you are not removing any bacteria.

if i had the time and energy to do daily changes on my one tank, i would! it's bare bottom and even a single oscar poop is not a pretty sight........ lol.
