I was wondering if it is safe for my oscar and african clawed frogs to eat baby crayfish. They are real tiny. Not even an inch big, but they are just a tad bit hard. Is it safe to feed them to my fish and frogs?

My oscar has no problem eating them (each summer for the last 2 years) when the RTC don't eat them first. My children's albino african clawed frog eats them as well, the crayfish were originally put in the tank to feed the soft-shell turtles.

dude, thanks for the info. That's awesome! I thought maybe they would have a prob digesting it, but if ya been doin it for 2 years, then I guess it is okay. Wonder what those things taste like? yuk.

yeah, perfectly fine. how big are your oscars? i feed some of mine with even harder shelled beetles and theyre growing fine

my oscar isnt that big yet. He is about 4 & 1/2 inches. I also have another one that is about 2 inches, but I was a little spooked about giving those to him. Tried to give the little one feeder fish, but he isnt intrested, but the big one will wear out anything you put in the tank
