Is it okay to feed shrimp everyday?

I believe only certain kinds of shrimp contain thiaminase. But still, I don't think it'd be the best idea to only feed shrimp. Would definitely recommend pellet types for everyday feeding, with shrimp as a treat (depending on the type of fish, of course).

It's not a good idea to feed just one food since what ever nutrition is missing, will be missed every meal, and whatever is bad will become the norm for every meal. Even trace elements can be different from food to food.

A possible list could look like this: night crawlers, crickets, massivore, NLS 7MM, Hikari sinking pellets, pollock, shrimp, squid, codfish, spinach, peas, algae flakes. Overall, low fat, lots of vitamins, good protein levels, a few veggies, etc. If you prefer pellets the most those could be the staple (2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 meals), with everything else as a third or fourth meal. Even pellets, I'd alternate a bit so it's not the same pellet 100% of the time, although some of the pellets seem really well balanced.

thiaminase

x2 and tripoly (whats-it-) as a preservative is questionable.. some say it's just fine. others not fans... me not a fan.

I don't feed shrimp at all.. but I am also in the middle of the midwest so quality seafood is generally expensive compared to other alternatives.

x2 as well on feeding as wide a variety as possible i aim for a 40/60 pellet/raw diet for my fish.

I think you should not feed evry day the same. Its bad in the long run and i guess your fish will not get the right nutrition.

While everyone else gets a variety, shrimp is the only thing the eel wants to eat.

I have learned the hard way by feeding shrimp every day, even frozen fish every day. Something about the freezing process, I don't know, all I do know is variety is better, but its a struggle to change a fishes diet if he is used to getting the same food. I know its tough.
