Explain "South African" ? the Hornet Cichlid often does not do well with the dwarfs.

butti's are biotch's, very agro in general, i wouldn't keep them with other south african cichlids.

Mbuna are East Africans. And to answer your question, yes, they would do well together.

Buttis are extremely aggressive and territorial. A mix would have to contain similarly aggressive cichlids in a huge aquarium.
