Is it possible to set the heaters up this way?

I'm setting up a 210 on the 1st floor. Below in the basement will be the the filtration and pumps. Now since the temp difference in the basement and where the tank is will always be different.

So I want to keep the heaters in the sumps, but control their temp settings by the tanks water.

Now I have seen heaters that can be connected to controller with long cords.
I've been looking and have found some, but there are no specs on the cords lengths. I'll need to keep the controller and temp sensor at the tank and the heater will be about 14ft away.

Any thoughts on a product?

i'm sure it can be done most likly a DIY thing good luck sounds cool but a pain to have filters in basment and tnak on main floor..lol
 
well if your filters are by your tank you can do WC feed and clean all in one spot also out of site out of mind....... good luck with it though :)
 
That sounds like a great idea. The water is all flowing through the same circuit though. The temp should be the same all around upstairs or down

just my opinion, could be wrong havent done it. just think
 
I had the same set up, tanks up stairs wet dry in basement. You can put the heaters in the sump and the tanks will still get to the temp you set it at. But if you must you could just cut and lengthen the thermostat cord for one of those heaters.

I'll second that. My sump is in another room. I have two heaters run by a controller in the sump with the thermometer probe also in the sump. It maintains the tank temperature just fine.

Just make sure and put the heaters downstream from the probe.
 
yes that would work and would probably make your tank look more natural, the heater in the background wouldn't take away from anything. I have seen people do this and it works really well.
