you sure have your opinions. I can take my money and buy whatever fish I want and flush them down the toilet if I want to. If I want a tank full of different fish and they decide to go ahead and get it on with each other fine with me. I dont spend thousands trying to make hybrids for sale, and I dont think it is at all responsible to kill hybrids just because some people dont like them. Hitler didnt like the Jews. Some people dont like mixed human babies. If God didnt intend for this to happen then it would not be possible to happen. I think a cross between a electric yellow and a kenyi would be pretty cool looking, I will sell them just to piss off people that dont like them.
ha.
ha-ha.
Why would you ask questions if you don't want INTELLIGENT and FACTUAL responses?

Do you just want everyone to say "cool dude". Your response showed not only your reading comprehension level but probably your age too. You are saying that pretty much all the leading scientist, authors, and advanced members of the hobby are wrong and that they all can go "float a boat". Your analogies with Hilter and bi-racial babies have been said before and as always are not logical. An intelligent response would have been "geesh I didn't realize that thanks." I challenge you to make an intelligent response on how african cichlid hybrids can benefit the hobby and your fellow fishkeepers. Lastly, again I ask you why would you ask ANY questions if you already are a know-it-all, gonna-do-it-my-way, screw-society, type of person that doesn't want intelligent and factual responses. If other newbies learn from this posting then it isn't a waste then.
On the God topic, so you are saying if God didn't intend for Hitler to kill all the Jews then it would not be possible to happen. Your words...just not well thought out.
Thank you Malawinut.
i8a22, IMO the subject of "god" and "his intentions" has no room or validation in this discussion. A point made clear by Malawinut so I've no need to elaborate. Nor does that of biracial children (and cross
breed dogs should anyone get the urge).
A biracial child is not a hybrid. It's a human being, same species as any of their "single race" parents, only of mixed race. This is equivalent Pseudotropheus demasoni from Pombo Rocks to Pseudotropheus demasoni from Mozambique. The resulting fish is not a hybrid, only a fish who's parents are of different geographical location who show physical traits specific to their location. The offspring become a generic P. demasoni, one which cannot, or more appropriately -
should not be sold with a geographical location in the name unless it is to specify Pombo Rocks x Mozambique.
Crossing a L. caeruleus with M. lombardoi does result in a true hybrid and if released may end up in the hands of someone who thinks their fish is a pure form of one or the other, since some hybrids may not always show characteristics of hybridization.
People are not here to promote flushing your fish down the toilet on a whim. A person can and will do whatever the F they want with a living creature they posess, people here are here to advise to the best of their knowledge and experience on how to do so properly. If one didn't want to accept decent advise, propositions or suggestions then said person could ignore the advice and/or search advise elsewhere. You're gonna hear the same thing anywhere where there are people with decent knowledge of aquarium fish and their conservation in the wild and in the hobby anyway.
No one said hybrids couldn't and absolutely shouldn't be kept, simply suggested that hybrids were not advisable. Many hybrids are kept for sentimental reasons or others are popular enough to be recognised as hybrids. No one ever said you couldn't keep them if you wanted to, simply suggested it would be unfair and unethical to pawn them on someone who would buy them or distribute them as something other than what they where.
You're being presumptuous and very immature to respond in such a fashion that would brag of selling hyrbids just to spite anyone on an internet forum.
