is it this behavior normal for a dat?

so i had him for about 14months now when i first got him he was 8cm now 16cm. anyways winding back to when i first saw him at the lfs he cought my attention when i walked pass the tank he and the other baby dats was being keeped in he was the only one who come right up to the glass stoned and stearing at me while his bothers and sisters where all hiding in holes in the back lol I was like awwww thoses big eyes!. i dont know about u guys but hes just not afraid of me what so ever when i clean my tank he swims around my hand givin me little nibbles hell i can even pat him and when i feed him he would come up gently take the food from my hands hes always stable and never hides man he just doesnt act like a fish lol its more like a dog except in a fish body lol *probabily think im his dad lol jkjk

anyways any of you guys would like to share ur experinces?

that was like my old NTT but it didnt come up to me when water changes but would pull bloodworm and krills out of my hand duing feeding and it was stable 24/7

when i bought my latest one ,, it was a choice between 2 dats ,, the lfs guy put the net in to net the biggest and the other one swam the length of the tank and placed himself in the net as if to say ''take me'' so i took that one lol,,

mine just stares at me while i sleep. it scares me sometimes when 4 thinbars come up to the tank and look straight up at you with their big eyes. i feel a murderous intentions from those fishes. LOL

lol ic gdgd i understand its funny how sometimes the dats just slap their faces on the glass everytime they see you approach the tank with food or without food even if its just me siting infront of the tank eating a piece of bread he would slap his face on the glass O_O!!! *give me! give me!!!

I had 6 ITs at one point, all of them were pretty shy. I had them with a GT. I later removed the GT and they were even more shy and were never the same

=[ sucks..but for me...i could only keep him in my 260L tank....hes the only fish in my tank hes about 16cm now everytime i put in new fish he would attack it to the point of death..sigh..he beat up a 20cm red tiger oscar i put in, almost killed a smaller 10cm IT..,killed my large silver shark 20cm my friend gave me...man.....T_T!!! why!! i ask my self why must u be so mean !!!but only friendly to me! -_-!

some datnoids can be aggressive if its a bigger size. well at least i think that happens. cichlids and oddballs dont get along too well sometimes. but once in a blue moon it will be peaceful. like i had 3 flowerhorn, 5 parrots, 3 Jack dempseys with like 5 datnoids of each kind. and ive never had a problem. just pecking here and there.
