is it time for a new tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
not a bad deal at all. I know joe's going to be a good guy to talk to about putting plants in your tank (real ones) I personally wouldn't do plants in a RBP tank. They will if they get big enough to breed cutt the plants to make nests. At least that is what they do in the wild. I would go for driftwood and rock caves they are easier to deal with in the long run IMO

joe today i saw my first fin bite marks, i took your advice ad lowered the tank temp but im worried i just might need that bigger tank. what do you think?

ps. nice pitt
to be totally honest with you, if you wait any longer to put them in a larger tank, you are leaving things in the hands of your fish... they may get along nicely and you still have all of your fish when you move them to the bigger tank, or they may decide to eat each other.

nobody can tell you with any certainty what will happen in your tank, your fish will decide that for you. i can tell you based upon experience that things probably won't end well, but i can also tell you that i've seen crazier things work out well.

if i were you, i would do whatever it takes to get them into a larger tank as soon as possible, but if your living situation doesn't allow for a larger tank, there's not much you can do.

i will agree that adding live plants to the mix in this tank wouldn't be very beneficial, but my fish have done much better over the years in tanks that were filled with live plants and some of the best looking piranhas that i have seen over the years have come from planted tanks.

You may also want to have plans about getting more filtration in the bigger tank as well. I dont know what filter you got now, but you will need more.

im sorry but...DUH!!!!!

as far as landscaping my tank, i just did a job for a friend of my dads. i cleared up a **** ton of swamp lands for this junk yard and kept a pretty gnarly piece of drift wood to line the tank with. and i already got a new filter for 100 gallon tank (this ain't my first rodeo).

I had to upgrade, my fish left me no choice. which means i'm just making my move harder for myself, but at least i saved my fish:nilly::nilly:!!!! I got a 75 gallon like we talked about, and used some gravel form a job site i just did (the gravel had a little bit of dirt on it still so my tank looks cloudy, oh and i put the bottle back in so you'd know it was me)
