I'm sure they can. With their large mouth, boney tongue and with the pellets probably soft from being soaked in the water, it'll be easy for them to consume it. Just keep an eye out just in case.
as long as your fish can fit it in its mouth it will be ok try starting your fish on floating food early if you wait until they get bigger they may not eat it
