the beauty about them is that they aren't artificial. And they really stand out amongst pretty much any freshwater fish.
They might be naturally occurring, but 99% of EBJDs I see are extremely line bred and suffer health issues, as mentioned above.

See it live under good lighting, nothing compares.

My ebjds has blue green and purple tints to it, blue/purple in different shades.

I've seen hundreds at my old job. Under good lighting. And even occasional full sized adult trade-ins. Like I said, I just don't get it personally, with so many other beautiful cichlids out there, why bother?

Just my opinion, keep whatever fish you want!

Male "Vieja zonatus" (the genus is going through some changes but this is the commonly seen name right now). The first photo is a female.

So I'm still wondering what the appeal is with EBJD when you have gorgeous fish like the one pictured above that isn't line bred and unhealthy? I'm not saying you shouldn't keep them, I'm just wondering what the thought process behind it is...
No flame wars please. ;)

Is it possible to make EBJD that isn't line bred?

I know the process and how they get the line bred ones... how would you get non line bred?

Iv owed quite a few African cichlids, but my ebjd puts them to shame.

Good quality big ones are rare. They are hard to raise so success is that much more sweet. I can't comment on its breeding but my ebjd is far from unhealthy.

From personal experience i can with out a doubt say, EBJDs have the greatest shades of Blue on it. No other cichlid comes close. Well mine at least does.

I don't think the brightest fish is necessarily the most attractive... At some point it just looks unnatural and off-putting IMO. I think that male zonatus Aquamojo owns puts your EBJD to shame bud, sorry.
