Is it viable to use nails instead of screws on a stand?

Terrific tool kit. We use those constantly on my current jobsite; they are practically bulletproof. We have about 80 units, including a dozen or so that are still humming after 4 years of more or less constant use...equivalent to a few lifetimes of domestic use.

Corded drills? Do they still make and sell those things? Or are you hunting one down in an antique shop? :)
Touche!
I am not a builder professionally, although i did build out my storefront (it's not anything fancy).

I found one for like $50 at lowes after my ryobi stopped charging, admittedly it was 10 years old had built 3 sheds, 20 stands and an outdoor pond but seldom was used on consecutive days/weeks/months. it works for my needs.

I like to overbuild. Would not even consider using nails. When I was building tank stands/racks I used 1/4 inch or bigger bolts/washers/lock nuts to hold everything together. Might be overkill but never worried about anything shifting.

Hi,
I also like to overbuild and have it reversible/modifiable so screws don't attract my style. I searched the web for a way to attach wood butt joints using nuts and bolts, but I haven't found anything. I saw your comment here and created an account just to ask how you held everything together on your tank stand.
Thank you so much!
