Is it worth it?

If you are serious about RBPs, you'd be better of buying some juvies and raising them yourself.

On my filtration, I have either a fluval fx or a couple of 404's. Adequet?

RBPs are very messy eaters, leave alot of small uneaten meat waste. This creates more ammonia so your will need adiquate filtration. It would be best to monitor your water for ammonia, nitirte, and nitrates, this will give you a good idea if you have enough filtration. If the fluval fx you have is a fx5 that would be a good start and may be adequate.

when i started fishkeeping again, i started with 4 x 3" juvie piranha. i raised them for four years and they hit just about max growth.i fed them anything and everything. the temp stayed at 75. i was very new to canister filtration so i had two HOB filters and an undergravel with a filtered powerhead. this seemed to be enough filtration for them guys. the only gripe i have with piranha is they get very "lazy and boring" when they get larger. not as much of a terror machine as they once were and got picky on their diet.

IMO they're alot more fun when they're small.

your tank sounds about 125 gals (6x1.5x2) so you could keep up to 5 p's in there for life

i would tank the p's but add acouple more
alos to onion there isnt really anything you need to know (other then feeding and temp) when keeping p's other them general FW info like cycling , testing...

i dont beleive in the 2 # but if you want more i would get them at the same time as the others

dont buy them on their reputation or you will be extreamly dissapointed

if you take the P's all you will need to do is up the filtration (depending on your current setup)
