is it wrong to feed fish live food

Betta you say? They are feeders from where I come from. If you don't have experience.. Try less big talk? No offense but we are talking about experience here. And you're talking about what you read from others.
You say feeding for entertainment is wrong, but you fed things that aren't supposed to be in a bettas diet. As you posted, seeing them getting killed. It's so much different from getting eaten whole than to be attacked slowly bleed out then die. Wouldn't it be contradicting what you said? Sorry if I sounded offensive.. It's just my thinking.. If you don't know anything then just keep quiet

yea everyone has a different opinion about feeding live food yesterday i fed my fish live worms i felt sort of guilty in a way. i mean it is not wrong to feed fih live food but some fish cant live without em

for exampled my indonesian datnoid didnot eat for 2 month only ate live worms finally trained him to eat pellets then he died

I used to feed live goldfish to my butterkoferi, flowerhorn and festae when I was younger and first getting into the hobby. That being said I was an idiot bec ause I had all three in a 55 gallon and they were all around 6-7 inches. Man I've come a long way since then. I'll never feed live to any fish again unless it truly only will eat live and can't be pellet trained.

Is the real debate here the method in which feeders are fed and the morality of it?

IE: Tossing a large fish into a tank where it will be slowly picked apart bite by bite vs tossing in several small fish that can be consumed in a single swoop.

tossing a large fish in the tank and seeing it suffer when other fish are picking at it is the probably the bad way of giving feeders

feeders may have external parasites and internal problems which cannot be seen by our naked eyes... just avoid it for ur fish's health... according to me its like preventing my fish from diseases...

If feeders are properly quarantined and treated for any potential illnesses or diseases after a few weeks they are fine. I feed my wolf live feeders that are processed this way and have yet to have any problems. I also have been feeding trout and nightcrawlers worms with no problem either not once have my wolf gotten bloat.

I re read this thread and it made me think, I feed my yoyo loach live snails which I find in my filter, and when I watched him eat him it definitely wasn't a quick kill- it looked like the loach was ripping the snail to shreds.
