You don't even need to drop a food block for your fish either, nothing gonna die after 5 days, buy a timer to auto turn on/off your light, make sure your filter mechanical part or chamber is clean and not going to clog for next 5 days then everything should be fine when you came back from vacation.

i have quite a bit in my tank now.. no matter how much i get rif of, it grows back some how. if a small piece is in the substrate. it will come back.

I boiled java moss on a piece of wood once for an hour, couldn't see any moss growth. Put the wood into a tank, month later, boom java moss again. You be the judge, its not high up there on a list of mosses I like lol
