Is liquid carbon safe for polys?

Does anybody have any recommendations for a good planted light for a 180g? can be mounted into a canopy if needed.

The fact that yall can keep corals is laudable. I tried salt for a few years but found mixing the salt with the water too cumbersome each time I did a water change. It seemed easier with a 40g tank than a 6g tank for some reason. I guess cause water quality had more room for error?
twentyleagues twentyleagues , I can't believe you keep an 8g reef. I could barely keep a 6g salt tank sans corals going.
Like the finnex planted led and fluval plant light will work. Even older t5 lights will work too. Leds are the go to nowadays for lighting.

Like kno4te kno4te said finnex and fluval lights work. I personally like shimmer in the tank (probably from my reefing days) I really like kessils but they are crazy money. Obviously I have played around with a ton of lighting trying to find a good light with a good price can drive you mad. I used to use metal halide on the reefs then t5ho then diy leds. Also agree that a nice standard t5 will absolutely get the job done. I bought a bunch of led t5 grow bulbs from a grow shop that do well and are a decent color rendition for both fish and plants and worked great in a canopy over my 180. Pics obviously don't show true colors and can be "doctored" to look how you want. Some options will require some diy-ing so other options such as the fluval will be much easier.

This is one of the t5 led grow lights I am talking about 48" bulb over a 75g. Isunlight 41w. It's about 11" over the tank so like a larger canopy height. Current ish pics
