Is market shrimp ok with small Tigrinus catfish?

Funny i feed mp almost exclusively to my cats/preds and tig and some are around 8yrs old..i do soak it in vitachem first tho so that may be my saving grace. My tigs been on mp for a good 2 years. Agreed varied diet is always best and i still give him super conditioned feeders that i keep for months and fatten them up to 3-4", u guys all got me nervous now with the mp sudden deaths. My tig absolutly hates tilipia and pukes it up just about every time days later. Longest mine has kept tilapia down was 3 days then spewed it everywhere almost killing him while i was at work. For ur tig id try krill first as hes still a lil guy, i also stuff/feed good food into my feeders right before they go in to be fed. Helps use less feeders and gives the fish better nutrition indirectly.

I personally have never had any food cause me any problem with any fish. That is because I feed a varied diet to everything. Even the guys that are on strictly prepared foods get many different ones. I only made the previous post to pass on some information that I got from a guy who's knowledge on Tig's I respect, T1Karman. And yes, he is a great looking fish and will be an even better adult. Enjoy him and give him a varied diet.

Haha thanks man! He's growing faster than my aro, around 6 inches now! I gave him some shrimp lastnight and he seemed ok. I just tried tilapia and he came out like a bat out of hell and took it so it seemed to be ok to him hah, will see if he spits it back out in the morning.

Crustaceans will or may "hurt" if fed steadily for a prolonged period.

Tig not digesting tilapia sounds very abnormal to me. Wednesday13 is an experienced keeper, so IDK, maybe his tilapia is compromised (freezer burnt? contaminated with something?). Grasping at the straws trying to rationalize it.

Yeah my tig dosent seem to have a problem with different foods, he will take down what he can get. I have a feeling it's going to be nervrecking when I put him with tank mates ha.
